How to fix laser tag projector effects not working

After a power outage or projector restart, you may notice that laser tag effects will no longer display. The effects server for each projector has to start after the projector has turned on to properly bind to it. As such, if the server turns on without the projector being on, it will not display anything.

To fix this:

  1. Turn on the projector
  2. Go to your laser control computer. On the desktop, you'll see some icons to reboot the effects server
    • At HPFM, they will be labeled as "north" and "south" effects servers. North is the side furthest from vesting, South is the side that shares a wall with vesting.
    • At HPNaples, they will be labeled by the bases, Red and Blue
  3. Doubleclick the icon of the effects server you'd like to reboot. A black window will come up, then disappear. Once it has, the server is rebooting.
  4. The projector should be going thru the boot process and showing a rainbow screen, a raspberry pi splash screen, and a bunch of scrolling text. Once it has finished, it should go black.
  5. It's ready to go!! Run a game and see the countdowns
